Request for Application (RFA) for Family Center Childhood Obesity Institute

The Diabetes Prevention and Control Program is working to establish a Family-Centered Childhood Obesity Institute that focuses on preventing and managing childhood obesity through a family-based approach. As part of this effort, the program aims to reward organizations to implement the Family Healthy Weight Program in three counties. Up to $24,500 will be awarded per organization for a total of two years in funding. This evidence-based program engages children and their families in building healthier eating and activity habits. The goal is to reduce obesity-related risk factors and prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes by supporting local partners in delivering impactful and sustainable interventions. . Applicants must be located in the state of Mississippi in the following counties: Holmes, Leflore, Wilkinson, Sharkey, Issaquena, Tunica, Coahoma, Claiborne, Noxubee, Humphreys, Adams, Bolivar, Sunflower, Jefferson Davis, Pike, Clay.
