Storage Buildings for Larger-Volume Sodium Hypochlorite (NaOCl) Crocks

City of Tucson / Water Department

Description

The City of Tucson intends to establish a contract with a supplier to provide storage buildings that accommodate larger-volume sodium hypochlorite (NaOCI) crocks. The buildings should not exceed the dimensions of the double-containment concrete foundation, which is 78" W x 78" L (See Attachment E). The larger storage buildings shall provide adequate ventilation, use non-corrosive materials to withstand direct exposure to NaOCl vapors, and allow Tucson Water staff to safely and comfortably work with larger chemical containers. The buildings will be located at well sites, boosters, and reservoirs where the standard-sized storage building is insufficient to store larger crocks, the pumping equipment, and its required plumbing.
