House of Tomorrow Residential Structure Voluntary Salvage Opportunity

Pierce County is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for voluntary salvage of materials from the House of Tomorrow, part of the Clarks Creek Property Acquisition Project. The house is located at 4907 66 th Avenue East, near Puyallup, Washington, in unincorporated Pierce County, and will be demolished after all salvage activities have occurred. There is the potential for the presence of asbestos-containing materials in and on the house structure. Pierce County has performed an Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Survey, Exhibit A, to determine the presence of such asbestos-containing materials. Materials containing asbestos cannot be salvaged from the house due to health and safety risk hazards. A copy of the AHERA Survey is included in this RFP. The AHERA Survey identifies and lists the specific materials that contain asbestos. This RFP includes Exhibit B - Historic American Building Survey (HABS) level 1 drawings, report, and photos of the house structure and surrounding landscape features and accessory structures. The HABS documentation provides additional information about the house and property. Please note that not all the items listed or shown in the HABS documentation will be available.
