FIRE-1809 - USA (Greenville, North Carolina) - New and Enhanced Firebreaks Service - Deadline August 14,2026

(1) Vendor needs to provide new and enhanced firebreaks service to the government authority located in Greenville, NC.– Firebreaks will traverse pine and hardwood forest, vegetative brush, and somepreexisting trails.– The goal is to create a defensible, low–fuel corridor that interrupts wildfire spread and can be maintained using standard wheeled tractors utilizing mowing deck and/or bush hogs.– The Range Control Personnel Contact will inform the vendor of forty–five (45) days in advance when training is scheduled.– Site Preparation and Clearing• Clear all vegetation, trees, stumps, brush, and debris within 50–foot width toexpose mineral soil or create a stable, low–vegetation surface.• Remove or grind all stumps to at least 4–6 inches below ground level (or as neededfor safe tractor/bush hog operation).• Fell and remove all trees, snags, and woody debris. No merchantable timberretention unless specified.• Incorporate or cross preexisting trails as directed; enhance or re–grade them to meetfirebreak standards.• Methods: Mechanical (e.g., dozers, excavators, masticators, grinders, chippers)and/or hand tools as appropriate. Avoid excessive soil disturbance.– Grading and Surface Preparation• Grade the firebreak to a smooth, drivable surface free of ruts, large rocks, or obstacles that wouldhinder wheeled tractor/bush hog operations.• Slope edges gently for erosion control and equipment access.• Final surface should support regular mowing/maintenance without frequent repairs.(2) The contract period will be for one year.(3) All the questions must be submitted no later than August 7, 2026
