Metro Rapid Corridors - Pavement Treatment Selection

City of Santa Cruz / Public Works

Description

The City plans to complete pavement rehabilitation as part of METRO Rapid Corridors Project along Front Street and River from Soquel Avenue to Water Street. The northbound bike and parking lanes were converted to a transit lane in 2024 to accommodate the Temporary METRO Transit Center. The project aims to make those treatments permanent and improve the roadway pavement section accordingly. This portion of Front Street from Water Street to Soquel Street is a predominantly two lane, one way arterial composed of asphalt concrete (AC) over Portland cement concrete (PCC). This project will prepare a design report that will be submitted to the METRO Rapid Corridors Designer for incorporation into their design plans.
