Project Name: Peer Respite Program Date: 9/25/26 Description: The County of Marin Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health & Recovery Services (BHRS), is seeking proposals from qualified organizations to develop and operate a Peer Respite Program for Marin County adults with serious mental illness and/or serious substance use disorders. The program will provide a voluntary, peer-led, short-term residential alternative to more intensive behavioral health services such as crisis stabilization or inpatient hospitalization. This program will be housed in an unlocked, homelike setting with 24/7 staffing and capacity for 5-12 participants, depending on facility size and program design. Funding includes up to $450,000 annually in Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA) funding for infrastructure and operations, plus up to $600,000 annually in Medi-Cal Fee-for-Service billing for supportive services.
