Consulting Services for Commute Trip Reduction
Pierce County / Procurement and Contract Services
Description
Pierce County has been awarded a Regional Mobility Grant from the Washington State Department of Transportation to reduce commute trips into King County made by Pierce County residents. The grant objective is to shift drive-alone commute trips to carpool, vanpool, transit, commuter train and encourage teleworking and/or compressed work week schedules. The goal is to obtain 10% adoption rate of new travel behaviors that take vehicles off the road during peak commute times between Pierce and King Counties. Pierce County is soliciting Request for Proposals from firms interested in providing on-call consultant services to conduct an analysis of commute trip data and determine the areas with the highest concentration of Pierce County residents commuting into King County as well as determine the most frequently traveled areas in King County. The selected firm will use the data to develop and implement innovative strategies for trip reduction programs that meet the needs of commuters by late spring 2024. During this process, the firm will evaluate the success of the grant project tasks and identify outstanding needs not met by the project. Estimated budget for this project is $332,000.00. This budget amount will also cover the 10% contingent fund.
