EDUCATION-18682 - USA (Suffolk, New York) - Transit New Rider Education and Travel Training Plan Services - Deadline November 4,2026

(1) Vendor needs to provide transit new rider education and travel training plan services to the government authority located in Suffolk, NY.– The recent re–alignment of bus routes throughout Suffolk County, as well as new features like mobile ticketing, app–based ride planning and on–demand service, may be daunting obstacles for some new and returning riders to grasp.– This effort will develop a Plan for transit rider education and travel training across several key demographic groups, including high school students, seniors, veterans, tourists/visitors, people with physical disabilities, and people with intellectual disabilities.– Literature and Best Practices Review: – This task involves a review of industry best practices related to travel training, and preparation of a draft and final summary memorandum. The review should consider the similarities of the peer transit systems to Suffolk County, and consider classroom training, one–on–one guided rides, in–school workshops, and outreach to major employment centers and senior facilities served by transit, among other items.– Travel Training Plan Development: – • An organized framework, goals, and scope of investment to maximize choice for as wide a user base as possible.• Index of major travel stakeholders and constituencies, including individuals with physical disabilities, individuals with intellectual disabilities, students, elderly residents, major employers, and employees at job centers served by transit.• A literature review of other similar programs in peer jurisdictions and their efficacy.• A workable, action–oriented Plan with a particular focus on people with disabilities for paratransit service.• Broad–based marketing, outreach and training materials including a sample travel training curriculum.• A sample curriculum and collateral.(2) A non–mandatory proposal conference will be held on October 8, 2026.(3) All question must be submitted no later than October 9, 2026.
