US-FED-00000389331 - Modeling and Simulation of a Propeller-Driven Rotor System - Deadline August 11,2026

The U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) requires detailed investigation into the performance, flight dynamics, structural loads, and stability of a Propeller–Driven Rotor (PDR) system. Phase I demonstrated the basic feasibility of controlling a PDR simulation model. However, the aircraft response showed a damped, oscillatory response which warrants further enhancement of the PDR flight controller. This Phase IIA effort will mature the flight control system, explore hardware–in–the–loop simulation, and provide general support to NSWC personnel. This project serves as a continuation of Phase–I efforts (Order No. N0016726Q1022). This award is to be made on a Sole Source Basis.
