(1) Vendor needs to provide government relations services.• Services may include providing advice and strategic counsel regarding governmental issues affecting the City and participating in state regulatory, legislative, budgetary, and administrative processes on the City’s behalf.• Services may also include intergovernmental relations assistance with local and regional partners, including other public agencies and special districts.– Strategic Counsel: • Advise on the development of the City’s annual legislative agenda and supporting materials to advance the City’s interest.• Assist the City staff in reviewing and tracking proposed legislation, developing positions, and developing and executing strategies to engage on relevant legislation.• Monitor and advise on changes in state, regional, and local government that may impact the City.• Assist in identifying funding programs and opportunities that complement the goals and objectives of the City.• Assist the City in pursuing and securing discretionary funding, particularly for public infrastructure, economic development, and housing related financing programs.(2) The contract period will be for one year.
