Sacramento Area Council of Governments / Do not Use - Staff User
Description
The Sacramento Valley Station is a regionally significant project that aims to transform the current historic rail station into a regional mobility hub that provides commuter bus transit, rail transit, and micro-mobility services in addition to improved intercity rail services. The Downtown Transit Service Integration Study will support this effort through by partnering with the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA), the City of Sacramento, and local and regional bus operators to identify route modifications and timing adjustments that better synchronize Sacramento’s regional bus system with intercity rail and local transit needs. The study work will also result in a recommendation for the optimal site to locate a bus layover facility that reduces the amount of “deadheading” empty commuter buses back to their origin. The new layover facility is anticipated to include electric charging and other green fueling options to support the zero-emission bus fleets serving the region. Through this Request for Proposals (RFP), SACOG is seeking a consultanteam to analyze and recommend strategies for an integrated public transportation system in Downtown Sacramento. The contract for the Downtown Transit System Integration Study will be an agreement between SACOG and the consultant, with funding and contract administration to be provided by SACOG. The consultant will invoice SACOG for services rendered and SACOG will compensate the consultant for these services as set forth in the agreement.
