  "summary": "<p>General work description:</p><p>ECAT is seeking proposals from Qualified Firms to provide solutions for ECAT&rsquo;s Automated Fare Collection (AFC) System Project, which includes, but is not limited to, designing, manufacturing, furnishing, testing, and installing an integrated system for the purposes of collecting bus fares, initializing, dispensing and processing fare media and revenue, and collecting, reporting, and recording data concerning the revenue and the passengers using ECAT's transit system. ECAT is open to innovative and flexible solutions.</p><p>Proposals submitted shall demonstrate the ability to provide a complete removal and installation of fareboxes for up to 40 buses, that allows transit customers to purchase ECAT's transit passes using a mobile phone or device, cash, and credit card. Additionally, proposers are welcome to suggest other options and features their products may offer, such as applications (&ldquo;apps&rdquo;). ECAT reserves the right to refrain from contracting with any supplier. The release of this request for quotes does not compel ECAT to procure. ECAT, may elect to proceed further with this project by interviewing suppliers well suited to our project, conducting site visits or proceeding with an award.</p>",
