(1) Vendor needs to provide excavating, trenching and shoring competent person training service to the government authority located in Richland, WA. – The purpose of the course shall extend the student’s knowledge of excavation basics, soil mechanics, soil classification, protective systems, excavation safety planning, and emergency planning.– Course Topics:• Regulations pertaining to excavation safety.• Competent person responsibilities as required by 29 CFR 1926, Subpart P.• Hazards associated with digging a trench/excavation• Measures to take to eliminate the hazards• General protection rules that apply to excavation safety• Safety equipment that can be used.• Classify soil and rock deposits as Stable Rock, Type A, B, or C using the visual and manual methods described in 29 CFR 1926, Subpart P, Appendix A.• Design requirements for structural ramps for egress of personnel or equipment.– This course is intended for persons who work in or around excavations on the agency Site.(2) All the questions must be submitted no later than September 10, 2026.
