NOI 26-009 - Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) - EMCS

City of Calgary

Description

The City of Calgary is an authorized employer under the Alberta Government’s Public Security Peace Officer Program. In accordance with the Public Security Peace Officer Program Policies and Procedures manual, to provide Emergency Response, Community Peace Officers must complete a provincially accredited 40-hour Emergency Vehicle Operations Course, with a provincially certified EVOC driving instructor which includes a theoretical approach with hands-on application. Alberta Defensive Tactics Training INC, is the closest supplier of this educational program that provides both certified trainers, educational space, equipment, facilities and track availability. This geographical proximity allows for a reduced travel expense for EMCS to provide this training to their community peace officers but also allows the flexibility to keep minimum staffing requirements to support operations of public safety in Calgary.
