Actuarial Audit Services - ERS - 2023 - 001

This Request for Proposal (“RFP”) is issued by the Board of Trustees (“Board”) of the Maryland‑National Capital Park and Planning Commission Employees’ Retirement System (“ERS”) for the purpose of obtaining a qualified actuarial firm (“firm”) to conduct a full-scope actuarial audit of the ERS’ June 30, 2023 actuarial valuation. The Board hired Cheiron, Inc. (“Cheiron”) in March 2019 to provide annual actuarial valuations, experience studies, and consulting services. In its continuing efforts to carry out its fiduciary duties consistent with best practices of maintaining a system of checks and balances, the Board shall from time to time audit the work of its consulting actuary to confirm the accuracy of work and adequacy of methods, assumptions, and conclusions.
