ARPA Palmetto and Live Oak Drainage Improvements

The E. Palmetto Avenue and Live Oak Drainage Improvement project is located west of Pensacola, in unincorporated Escambia County. The project area is along E. Winthrop Avenue and E. Palmetto Avenue between S. 2nd Street and Live Oak Avenue. This project will include the installation of a collection and conveyance stormwater system with a filtration device and the grading of existing ditches located in the right-of-way (ROW). The project area is in an older subdivision with little to no existing stormwater infrastructure. The area is known to have flooding and hazardous ditches. The Drainage Improvements include the addition of a stormwater drainage system that will be located in the E Winthrop Avenue and E Palmetto Avenue ROW. The stormwater system will tie into existing infrastructure in two locations via an existing drainage manhole to along E. Winthrop Avenue and a proposed doghouse manhole in the E. Palmetto Avenue ROW. Treatment will be provided through a Filtration Device that is to be installed along the existing 42” storm pipe located in a county easement adjacent to E Palmetto Avenue.
