San Francisco Airport (Construction) / Design and Construction - Procurement and Contracts Section
Description
The Airport Substation Transformer Upgrade Project (Project) is a collaboration between the San Francisco International Airport Commission (Airport) and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (PUC). The PUC provides power to the Airport through two PUC-owned substations located on SFO property, one of which is the Airport Substation. This Project will replace the two existing Airport Substation transformers with three new 55-megavolt-ampere (MVA) transformers (one will serve as a backup), the existing switchgear equipment, and other supporting electrical systems. The Project will increase electrical capacity, improve the reliability of the power supply, and provide redundancy for scenarios outside of normal operations. Contractor shall be responsible for providing PMSS as described in Appendix B, Scope of Services.
