Vendor needs to provide enterprise virtualization rapid integration solution.• Army requires innovative commercial virtualization software solutions and associated services to diversify the enterprise virtualization portfolio, increase competition, and reduce total cost of ownership across its unique global computing estate• A new, multi–vendor approach is required to break the vendor lock–in, enable modular consumption–based scaling, and seamlessly migrate existing workloads without operational disruption. • Must support offline operations with encrypted background synchronization upon network reconnection.• Modernized, low–overhead edge compute nodes are required to support tactical command–and control (C2) environments running over severely thinned, high latency, or Disconnected, Intermittent, and Limited (DIL) networks.• High–availability, elastically scaling virtualization platforms are required to consolidate large server stacks and support heavy Core Count Per Socket (CCPS), monitoring, or analytical workloads at regional network hubs• Requires secure virtual desktops to allow access to desktops and applications in connected and disconnected environments.
