The single source acquisition of Software and system upgrade on department’s existing Fanuc Robodrill from Elliott Matsuura Canada Inc. is being requested. The primary reason for this sole-source request is technical compatibility and risk mitigation. The current Fanuc Robodrill uses manufacturer-installed, password-encrypted software. Attempting to bring in a third-party vendor to perform upgrades would require bypassing or overriding proprietary access controls.
