Description
The County of Riverside Purchasing Department, on behalf of the Riverside County Regional Park & Open-Space District (“District”), is soliciting quotations for comprehensive tree trimming, pruning, removal, data collection, and related arboricultural services across multiple District-managed parks, open-space areas, nature centers, and historic sites. These services are essential to maintaining the health, safety, and aesthetic quality of the District’s diverse urban forest and natural landscapes. The District manages an extensive inventory of mature trees, young trees, and palms located throughout regional parks, ecological reserves, wildlife areas, trail systems, and recreation facilities. Routine and on-demand tree maintenance is required to ensure public safety, protect infrastructure, reduce wildfire risk, preserve environmental benefits, and uphold the long-term sustainability of the District’s natural resources. Services performed under this RFP will support ongoing goals including enhancement of visitor experience, compliance with industry standards, mitigation of hazardous tree conditions, and protection of District assets. Contracted work may include programmed pruning, on-demand/elective pruning, palm maintenance, tree and stump removal, crane-assisted operations, trunk injection treatments, storm-response services, and arborist-led inventory data collection. All work must be performed in accordance with current ANSI A300 and ANSI Z133 standards, and the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Best Management Practices. Work will be assigned on an as-needed basis and overseen by the Park Maintenance Superintendent serving as the Contract Inspector. Tree maintenance activities will occur at various District locations, including but not limited to: Lake Skinner Recreation Area, Lake Cahuilla Veterans Regional Park, Rancho Jurupa Regional Park, Idyllwild Regional Park, Hurkey Creek Regional Park, Mayflower Regional Park, McCall Memorial Regional Park, multiple open-space reserves such as Box Springs Mountain and Santa Rosa Plateau, nature centers, historic ranch sites, and District headquarters. This RFP is intended to establish a responsive and qualified contractor capable of providing timely, professional, and environmentally responsible tree care services throughout the contract period. The selected contractor will be required to supply all labor, materials, equipment, certifications, and expertise necessary to fulfill the District’s tree maintenance needs safely and efficiently.
