Vendor needs to provide additive manufacturing system to the government authority located in Washington, DC. – The contractor shall deliver and install a new industrial–grade additive manufacturing system to support the design and fabrication of both prototype and production components which are integral to the currency manufacturing process.– Outcome Needed:A. Quickly converting Computer Aided Design (CAD) models to physical parts within hours, minimizing lead timesB. Eliminating traditional processes like engineering drawings, procurement cycles, and market research for machine shops.C. Avoiding delays associated with answering questions from machine shops or dealing with damaged/lost packages.D. Creating complex parts that aren’t feasible through conventional methods, such as integrated designs that would typically require multiple assembled components.E. Prototyping and producing small–scale or one–off parts like a metric flange, InfraRed viewer stands, and test fixtures.F. Manufacturing parts that would be challenging or costly to machine traditionally, quickly and cost–effectively.
