Description
Isle of Wight County shall accept sealed bids until 2:00 p.m. local time, Tuesday, July 13, 2010 for construction of Route 17 (Carrollton Blvd) Left Turn Lane at Route 659 (Kings Cove Way). Construction efforts are to include the construction of a left turn lane to consist of a 200' stacking lane and 200' taper. The existing turn lane and taper shall be milled and overlaid with a new surface layer of asphalt and integrated in the turn lane improvements. The proposed roadway cross section in the location of the improvements shall match the cross section of the existing turn lane. Th existing ditch in the middle of the median shall be reduced approximately two feet in width to match the upstream section of the same ditch. This project is funded in whole or in part with the federal stimulus American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds and will be administered in conformance with VDOT's Locally Administered Projects Manual. Compliance with the reporting requirements of ARRA sections 902 and 1515(a) in the manner prescribed by VDOT Special Provision for ARRA Reporting is mandatory. This project has a DBE goal of 6%.
