Local Boards Legal Counsel Services

The City of Phoenix Retirement Office, on behalf of the City of Phoenix Fire Pension Board and the City of Phoenix Police Pension Board for the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (the “Local Boards or Boards”), invite sealed proposals, including detailed information concerning the qualifications and hourly rates of law firms or attorneys, for providing legal services as independent counsel to the Local Boards. Legal Counsel that is employed by the Local Boards is independent of the employer and any employee organization or member and owes its fiduciary duty only to the Local Boards in connection with its representation of the Local Board. Those services will include attending meetings of the Boards, providing legal counsel, advice and litigation services as needed to the Boards and applicable staff, reviewing agenda and supporting materials prior to the meetings and monitoring compliance with the open-meeting laws. The Scope of Work is set forth in Exhibit A – Scope of Work of this solicitation.
