(1) Vendor needs to provide playground equipment supply to the government authority located in Ames, IA.• The goal is to remove the two existing playgrounds and install one playground for 2–12–year–olds.• Equipment Considerations5.1 The following shall be taken into consideration when developing the playground proposals.5.1.1 Open slides will only be considered.5.1.2 Direct bury components will only be considered.5.1.3 All metal components shall be powder coated and able to withstand extreme heat, moisture, and UV exposure.5.1.4 Swings shall not be attached to the playground structure.5.1.5 Proposed tunnels, tubes, and cubes of rotationally molded polyethylene materials with ultraviolet light stabilizers and color molded in, must provide good visibility to interior.5.1.6 All deck openings must have either attached components or wall enclosures (bars or solid panels) as required by agency5.1.7 If climbing elements are proposed (i.e. ropes, cargo netting, stepping pods/blocks, climbing walls) they shall have hand and foot holds.5.1.8 Ladders of powder–coated metal attached to decks, can be spiral, straight, or arched with loop steps or bar steps.5.1.9 Wooden structures will not be considered for purchase.(2) The contract period will be for one year.(3) All the questions must be submitted no later than September 2, 2026.
