Description
This is a safety improvements project on Amelia Avenue between Voorhis Avenue and Ohio Avenue (approximately 3,000 feet) in DeLand, FL. The project consists of converting Amelia Avenue from a four-lane undivided section to a three-lane section with two travel lanes, a two-way continuous left turn lane, 8-foot-wide sidewalks, and access management improvements. The project will also include safety improvements, a traffic signal modification at the intersection with SR-44, a mini roundabout at the intersection with Ohio Ave., access management improvements, stakeholder coordination, resurfacing, signage, and pavement markings. Amelia Avenue is located approximately 2 blocks East of SR-17/92 near downtown DeLand, Florida. The project consists of two segments: (1) from Voorhis Ave. to SR-44 which is owned and maintained by the COUNTY of DeLand and (2) from SR-44 to Ohio Ave. which is owned and maintained by Volusia County.
