  "summary": "<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0in 13.7pt; font-size: 11pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">The Bridgeton Board of Education is requesting proposals from companies that provide oral language and literacy phonics programs, which offer support and scaffolding specific to Bilingual students in grades K-8, whose first language is Spanish.&nbsp; </span></p><p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0in 13.7pt; font-size: 11pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">&nbsp;</span></p><p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0in 13.7pt; font-size: 11pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">Scope: </span></strong><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">We are seeking an organization/company able to provide an innovative and systematic phonological program specifically designed for Bilingual students in grades K-8 learning to read in Spanish.&nbsp; Rather than using traditional methods for learning to read in Spanish (ma, me, mi, mo, mu methods), the district is looking for a company able to provide a program able to accelerate learning.&nbsp; The program must address the New Jersey Learning Standards and provide differentiated instruction for students functioning on different academic levels. The program must address the specific needs of students in grades K-1 (16 classes - 350 students), who are in the early stages of the Spanish language acquisition process, as well as the needs of students without formal education in grades 2-8 (19 classes &ndash; 100 out of 418 students in need of intensive intervention). Although the program must have a digital component, the district needs a program offering multisensory manipulatives, charts, workbooks and other materials.&nbsp; </span></p><p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0in 13.7pt; font-size: 11pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">&nbsp;</span></p><p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0in 13.5pt; line-height: 200%; font-size: 11pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 200%;\">B.&nbsp; <u>SCOPE OF SERVICE</u></span></strong></p><ol style=\"margin-bottom: 0in; margin-top: 0px;\"><li style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0in 24px; font-size: 11pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">The district is looking for a program able to accelerate Spanish language acquisition using a different approach rather than traditional methods of learning to read in Spanish (ma, me, mi, mo, mu methods).</span></li><li style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0in 24px; font-size: 11pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">Program must use an innovative and systematic phonological method to teach students learning to read in Spanish.</span></li><li style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0in 24px; font-size: 11pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">Program must use a syllabic and authentic approach.&nbsp; An innovative approach able to accelerate learning is preferred.&nbsp; However, a traditional approach will be considered if it includes updated multisensory manipulatives, charts, workbooks and other materials, which can accelerate learning.</span></li><li style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0in 24px; font-size: 11pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">The program must include a digital component.</span></li><li style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0in 24px; font-size: 11pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">Program must be effective in improving phonemic awareness.&nbsp; It must give direct instruction in phonics, decoding, and reading to improve comprehension and interpretation skills.</span></li><li style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0in 24px; font-size: 11pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">The program is based on current scientific research, Common Core State Standards, New Jersey Learning Standards and provide for differentiated instruction for students functioning on different academic levels. </span></li><li style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0in 24px; font-size: 11pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">Program provides teachers with decoding strategies, visual and manipulatives, which improve differentiated instruction.</span></li><li style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0in 24px; font-size: 11pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">Program must offer multisensory manipulatives, charts, workbooks and other materials</span></li><li style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0in 24px; font-size: 11pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;\">Program must have a digital component.</span></li></ol>",
