Description
Hypochlorite delivered under this award shall have a minimum of 120 Grams per Liter (GPL) available chlorine (i.e., 12.5 Trade Percent or 10.85 percent Sodium Hypochlorite by weight). Product shall be a clear straw colored liquid with no visible cloudiness, impurities, or sediment. To insure long term stability, Hypochlorite delivered under this award shall have a minimum of 0.15 percent by weight and a maximum of 0.45 percent by weight of excess sodium hydroxide (caustic soda). The pool and fountain acid shall be a ready-to-use non-fuming solution of Sulfuric Acid diluted to strength of 38%. The color of the liquid shall by near clear white to pale straw colored. It shall have a specific gravity of 1.29 and a pH between 0.7 and 0.9. It shall weigh approximately 10.8 pounds per gallon. It shall be totally free of any debris or foreign material and shall be approved for use as a pH adjuster for commercial swimming pools. The City of Tampa reserves the right to test the pool and fountain acid to assure that it is in compliance with these specifications. If it is found that the pool and fountain acid does not comply, it may be cause for cancellation of award. The Awardee shall make normal deliveries of Sodium Hypochlorite and Sulfuric Acid directly to the pool and fountain sites within the greater Tampa area A. Normal delivery shall be made on a regularly scheduled basis that is established in agreement with the contract monitors. The minimum acceptable delivery would be to fill each tank at each pool and fountain on a weekly basis from April 1st through September 30th; from October 1st to March 31st the deliveries could be reduced to every two weeks. However, due to weather conditions and changes in usage schedule of the pools and fountains, these guidelines can be changed by the contract monitors at any time. Emergency service shall always be available when required within 6 hours of the request of the Pool Operator at no additional charge.
