Hurricane Nicole Seawall Extensions and Repairs for 14th, 15th, and 29th Avenues in New Smyrna Beach
County of Volusia / Coastal
Description
Storm surge from Hurricane Nicole eroded the dune along New Smyrna Beach rendering many seawalls ineffective as wave action circumnavigated around seawall returns. This project would extend the seawall returns further west stabilizing the public beach access points, backfill any erosion damage and reestablish public access to the dune walkovers and the beach. This single project encompasses 3 work sites. Seawalls at 14th Avenue, 15th Avenue and 29th Avenue in New Smyrna are all included in this singular bid.
