The F/A–18E/F and EA–18G Program Office (PMA–265) intends to issue a firm fixed price competitive solicitation for non–recurring engineering (NRE) for F/A–18E/F and EA–18G Nose Landing Gear (NLG) and Main Landing Gear (MLG) Conformal Anodes to facilitate the transition from legacy Cadmium (CAD) plating to Low Hydrogen Embrittlement (LHE) Zinc/Nickel (Zn/Ni) plating. Under this effort, the Contractor will design, develop, fabricate, and deliver conformal anodes, associated technical drawings, and anode cases for Zn/Ni plating for the specified landing gear components. The Contractor will be responsible for performing first article inspection (FAI) in conjunction with the existing landing gear overhaul line and confirm, through current density analysis reports, adequate thickness and uniformity of Zn/Ni plating. In addition, the Contractor will also be required to provide the necessary updates to the Technical Data Package to support the transition to Zn/Ni.THIS IS PRE–SOLICITATION SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.
