(1) Vendor needs to provide veterinary services to the government authority located in Riverside, CA.• Identify and pre–qualify multiple licensed veterinarians who can provide veterinary services for medical care, such as regular check–up’s and emergency care• Veterinarians applying for this qualification should have a strong background in K–9 care with a minimum of three years of professional veterinary experience, including medical examinations, health checks, vaccinations, and emergency care for law–enforcement dogs.• These veterinarians will ensure the health and well–being of K–9 units, which are essential for community safety.• Routine Health Examinations1. Physical Examinations1.1 Conduct thorough health assessments biannually, including weight, vital signs, and body condition scoring.1.2 Assess musculoskeletal health, dental condition, and skin integrity.2. Health Monitoring2.1 Implement a tracking system for vital statistics, vaccination schedules, and treatment histories.2.2 Periodically assess trends in health—weight changes, behavioral changes, and injury patterns• Preventive Care1. Vaccinations1.1 Administer core and non–core vaccines (e.g., rabies, parvovirus, distemper) according to established schedules.1.2 Ensure K9s are up to date on titers for diseases relevant to their working environments.2. Parasite Control2.1 Develop a comprehensive parasite management program, including flea, tick, and intestinal parasite treatments.2.2 Evaluate environmental factors that may contribute to parasite exposure.3.
