(1) Vendor needs to provide city attorney services to the government authority located in St. Joseph, MI. – The City Attorney is appointed by the City Commission.– The City Attorney works at the direction of the City Commission and City Manager, under the general supervision of the City Manager.– The City Attorney provides legal advice and representation to the City on civil matters and prosecutes ordinance violations.– The City may retain separate outside counsel for specialized areas, such as bond, bankruptcy, litigation, and labor matters.– The City Attorney is expected to take part in the legal administration of those matters and coordinate with outside counsel.• General counsel and advice• Meetings• Documents, contracts, and real property• Zoning and land use• Litigation and claims• Ordinance prosecution• Employment and labor• Elections and public records• Reporting, research, and other work(2) All questions must be submitted no later than November 2, 2026.(3) The contract period will be two years.
