(1) Vendor needs to provide food rescue grants service to the government authority located in Minneapolis, MN. – The Food Rescue Grant program is to keep edible food out of the disposal system, conserve resources that went into producing food for human consumption, and feed people.– The majority of surplus food from restaurants, food retailers such as grocery stores, and households ends up in the trash.– The impact of discarded food on our climate and environment is enormous, since food never eaten requires resources to grow, harvest, transport, and prepare – even when it ends up being discarded.– Applications for food rescue must include plans to collect, redistribute, and process food that would have been discarded.– Food recovery activities must be within County. – Services are to develop new or expand current collection of edible food destined to be discarded and redistribute this food to feed people.(2) A virtual pre–bid meeting will be held on September 10, 2026.(3) All questions must be submitted no later than September 23, 2026.
