Rolling Hills Pump 6 Can Repair

During the visual inspection of the RH2 pump #6 pump can, multiple areas of damage were observed that occurred during a pump failure event. Smaller Vanes: - Damage to smaller vanes at the bottom of the pump can was noted. Larger Vanes: - Severe damage was observed on the larger vanes. Cavitation Damage: - Multiple areas of cavitation damage was identified throughout the pump can. Additional Repairs: - Due to the welding and cutting required to address the damage, there will be multiple areas in the bottom of the pump can that will need repair for any holidays (discontinuities or defects) in the coating. The coating repair process presents several challenges, primarily due to the need for climate control, the confined space, and limited access for multiple employees.
