Consulting Services to Scope Projects to Enhance Resiliency

City of Palo Alto / Utilities

Description

The City of Palo Alto (CPA) is working to achieve ambitious goals to electrify large numbers of buildings and vehicles in Palo Alto. CPA runs its own electric utility and is working to facilitate this effort by increasing capacity on the City’s electric distribution system and investing in projects to improve reliability and system recovery. However, this effort has generated renewed interest in alternatives to provide enhanced customer resiliency. Various ideas for strategies and technologies to pursue have been generated ranging from solar + storage to vehicle to home technology to neighborhood microgrids. The City is seeking a consultant(s) with skills in these areas that can provide task-order-based, on-call analytical services on various projects on this topic.
