Vendor needs to provide water quality laboratory services to the government authority located in Bellingham, WA. – To analyze water quality samples for coliform bacteria standard protocols.– Staff and partners will collect surface water samples for the department’s fecal bacteria water quality monitoring program following the department’s Standard Operating Procedures– This water quality monitoring program supports the county’s shellfish protection and recovery goals.– The fecal bacteria water quality monitoring program consists of three types of monitoring: • Ambient sampling – Ambient sample runs will be scheduled with the laboratory in advance monthly. There are currently 9–10 ambient runs per month.• Follow–up sampling – Follow–up sampling occurs about 2–7 days after an ambient run in response to high bacteria counts.• Storm sampling – Storm sampling occurs every fall targeting first flush events and other types of rain events.
