Vendor needs to provide water main replacement survey, design and construction engineering services to the government authority located in Dundee, MI. – Provide professional services for the replacement of the existing water main along the Riley Street extension to the existing dead end at US–23, approximately 600 feet. – Provide topographic survey, water main design, EGLE permitting, construction engineering and inspection, materials testing and construction staking.• Topographic survey and base mapping:– Establish horizontal and vertical control and complete a topographic survey of the project corridor sufficient for design and construction.– Locate visible utilities, structures, pavement limits, curb, drainage features, driveways, property and right–of–way evidence, and other features that may affect the work.• Water main design:– Evaluate the existing system information and confirm the recommended water main size, alignment, connection points, valve and hydrant locations, services and construction limits with the agency.– Prepare plans, technical specifications, bid documents, quantities and an engineer’s opinion of probable construction cost suitable for public bidding and construction.• Bidding assistance:– Assist the agency with bidding, respond to technical questions, prepare addenda as needed, review bids, and provide a recommendation of award.• Construction engineering and inspection:Conduct a preconstruction meeting and coordinate with the Village, contractor, utilities, permitting agencies, and affected property owners as appropriate.• Provide construction administration, including review of submittals, requests for information, pay applications, proposed changes, schedules, and contractor documentation.• Provide construction observation and prepare daily reports documenting personnel, equipment, work completed, quantities, site conditions, testing, and project issues.• Materials testing:– Provide or coordinate field and laboratory testing required by the contract documents, including soil and aggregate compaction, concrete testing, and asphalt testing as applicable.• Construction staking:– Provide construction layout and staking for the water main, appurtenances, limits of removal and restoration and other work shown in the construction documents.
