Description
The Board of Trustees of Whakatāne High School invites tenders from suitably qualified contractors for remediation works to Block N under the Ministry of Education 5YA programme. The works will be delivered under a Medium Works Contract: The successful contractor will be responsible for the removal and replacement of existing timber windows to Block N (Nelson Block), including the supply and installation of new double-glazed window units, replacement of existing Autex wall linings in multiple teaching spaces, and all associated demolition, making good, testing, commissioning, certification, cleaning and handover requirements. The contractor shall manage all interfaces with the existing asbestos-containing cladding and ensure works are undertaken in accordance with applicable health and safety, asbestos management and regulatory requirements. Works are scheduled to commence on 8 December 2026 and must be completed within the end of year holiday period. Tenderers will be evaluated on methodology, capability, capacity, economic benefits and price. Contractors with relevant experience delivering remediation and renewal works in operational school environments are encouraged to submit a tender.
