(1) Vendor needs to provide emergency preparedness course development services to create and facilitate a 3–course curriculum on emergency preparedness for nursing homes for the academy to equip nursing home staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from a variety of emergency situations—such as natural disasters, fires, loss of utilities (water, power), hazardous chemical emergencies, state–level emergency declarations—to ensure the safety and well–being of all residents and staff to the government authority located in Ohio.– The content must contain didactic style training, small group scenario–based training activities, and learning community group discussion questions.– Identify key protocols to evacuate residents and their medications including medication administration records and treatment administration records to other locations.– Identify key internal and external communication channels (e.g., local emergency services, families of residents)– Identify Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) skilled nursing home facility Critical Element Pathways (CEP) that guide facilities in evaluating specific quality of care issues related to emergency preparedness.
