Comprehensive Urban Forest Maintenance Program

City of Santa Monica / Public Works

Description

The City of Santa Monica is seeking a qualified contractor to maintain approximately 36,000 public trees, of which about 28,000 are street trees and the remainder park trees for an initial term of five years with one five year renewal term. There are both broad-headed trees and palms species, some of which are over 80’ tall and require the use of a taller tower/aerial lift to perform routine work. This work consists of tree trimming, tree removal, tree planting, young tree care (e.g. watering, re-staking), and addressing tree emergencies during business hours and non-business hours. The estimated annual frequencies/volume for anticipated work categories can be found within the attachment H. The Contractor must be able to meet and perhaps exceed this anticipated workload.
