Marine Fire Fighting Equipment

The Harbor Unit’s required Marine Fire Fighting equipment is the standard PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), consisting of turnout jackets & pants, boots, hoods, helmets, and gloves and SCBA’s (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus). SCBA’s are personal protective equipment used to protect Harbor Officers from environments that are “Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health” (IDLH). All personal protective equipment (PPE) is required to be donned at a marine fire incident. SCBA’s shall be donned at all incidents where smoke or toxic gases may be present or where an oxygen deficient atmosphere may exist.
