Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE) Program

The Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS), Division of Youth Services (DYS), is soliciting competitive proposals from qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or governmental entities to provide Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE) programming and supportive youth services for youth ages 10–19 across Mississippi. Priority populations include youth in the community, school systems, juvenile justice system, foster care, and underserved rural regions. The overall goal of this initiative is to safely redirect youth from sexual activities involvement into structured, evidence-based, community-based interventions that strengthens protective factors, supports family engagement, and contributes to long-term positive outcomes. This RFP seeks innovative, research-informed approaches that strengthen families and support Mississippi youth ages 10–19 in making healthy, risk-free decisions.
