(1) Vendor needs to provide medical companion services to the government authority located in Pittsburgh, PA.• Acting as the patients’ responsible adult during hours of duty.• Escorting the patient to their procedure.• Staying with the patient until handed off to a hospital staff member for their procedure.• Remaining on hospital premises until the procedure is complete. • Responding to calls and requests to return to the waiting room when needed. Telephone service is not always guaranteed. We emphasize the need for routine check–ins or to wait in the waiting room when possible.• Being present and listening to postoperative instructions from the VA staff indicating patient care needs following the procedure.• Contractor must maintain enough vetted and trained personnel to fulfill 90% of referrals provided to the vendor per month. • The Contracting agency will confirm services with the patient no less than 24 hours prior to providing services. • Companions will meet with identified patients, punctually, at the address indicated in the referral(2) Contact period will be for one year.
