Tuolumne County Broadband Environmental Assessment

Tuolumne County is soliciting Requests for Proposals from firms to provide environmental consulting services for the development of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) to address the environmental effects of countywide broadband installation, including both underground and aerial fiber optic cable. The objective is to achieve compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), such that entities can take advantage of current and future funding for broadband infrastructure provision, expected to be available through the California Emerging Technology Fund (CETF) and other Federal and State funding sources. In the immediately near term, the County will be including this project into a Local Agency Technical Assistance application as a means to assist in paying for this project. The County will be applying for a Technical Assistance grant in July 2022 with anticipated award in August 2022. Execution of the contract for the work solicited by this RFP will be contingent upon award of grant funds to the County.
