Vendor needs to provide city attorney and legal services to the government authority located in Allegan, MI. – Provides legal advice, counsel, services, training, consultation, and opinions to the City Council and City Administration on a wide variety of municipal matters, including but not limited to land use, planning, and zoning; telecommunications; discrimination; construction and public works matters; purchasing and procurement, leasing and the purchase and sale of property; legal matters relating to public disclosure and criminal and tort law as it relates to ordinances.– Attends and furnishes legal representation and advice at City Council business meetings and at other meetings when requested.– Appears before courts and administrative agencies to represent the City's interests.– Coordinates with other special counsel, as needed, to assure proper management of legal issues, and proper coordination and transition of legal issues among special counsel.– Assists City officials and employees to maintain an awareness of ethical standards and standards of fairness and impartiality as well as methods that avoid potential conflicts of interest, prohibited transactions and/or the appearance of prohibited transactions.– Prepares legal opinions at the request of the City Council or the City Manager. – Provides the City Manager and City Council with legal perspectives and advice on various governmental issues. – Performs other legal services and tasks assigned by the City Council or the City Manager.
