For over three decades, ITE has supported federally stewarded ITS standards activities that bring together public agencies, private–sector technology providers, and subject matter experts to develop consensus–based standards that enable interoperable, safe, and effective transportation systems.FHWA requires non–personal systems engineering development, testing, and research services to support the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) ITS Joint Program Office (ITS–JPO).
