Description

1.1 SCOPE: The Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and services necessary to perform external inspections of aboveground fuel tanks, and potassium sodium tanks. Internal inspections and tank wall thickness measurements shall be included in inspection for three (3) tanks – one (1) 30,000 gallon JP-8 tank, and two (2) 15,000 gallon JP-8 tanks located adjacent to taxiway delta. Contractor shall provide a detailed report of conditions found to include estimates for repairs. All work located at USCG Base Cape Cod in Bourne, MA 02542. 1.1.2 REQUIRED WORK: This list should not be considered complete. It represents the general items needed to complete the contract requirements. Base Cape Cod manages six (6) above ground tanks that are greater than or equal to 6,000 gallons, that are used for the storage of fuel products. Three (3) above ground tanks, used for the storage of gasoline, are located adjacent to Coast Guard Base Cape Cod’s (BCC) Mini Mart. Two (2) of the tanks adjacent to BCC’s Mini-Mart have a 10,000 gallon capacity the third tank has a 6,000 gallon capacity. Three (3) above ground tanks, used to store JP-8 (aviation fuel), are located adjacent to Taxiway Delta behind building 3170. Two (2) of the tanks adjacent to Taxiway Delta have a 15,000 gallon capacity, the third tank has 30,000 gallon capacity. Base Cape Cod also manages two 5,000 gallon potassium sodium tanks located behind building 124. Inspect the tanks in accordance with Steel Tank Institute (STI) SP001 and complete the STI SP001 AST record. Perform wall thickness testing, and internal inspection IAW API 653. Wall thickness testing, and internal inspection to only be completed on 30,000-gallon tank, and two (2) 15,000-gallon tanks located adjacent to taxiway delta. Drafting a report on the condition of the tanks including any observed deterioration, the results of tests, and predictions of the expected service life remaining. 1.1.3 TANK INSPECTION SCHEDULE: Work shall be completed over a four (4) year period. Year 1; Inspect 30,000 gallon tank adjacent to taxiway delta Year 2, Inspect two (2) 15,000 gallon tanks adjacent to taxiway delta Year 3, Inspect two (2) 10,000 gallon tank adjacent to CGEX Year 4, Inspect 5,000 gallon tank adjunct to CGEX & (2) 5,000 gallon Potassium Sodium Tanks SEE SOW FOR FULL DETAILS
