Description?
This public notice for the acquisition of commercial services is prepared in accordance with FAR Part 5.2 - Synopsis of Proposed Contract Actions and FAR Part 6.2 - Other than Full and Open Competition. The Library of Congress (Library) requires contract support to obtain a comprehensive service agreement for the Gerstel MPS and associated components (filtration, thermal desorption, dynamic headspace modules). The Gerstel MPS system was originally acquired in and, following the completion of the initial warranty period, the equipment was covered for regular service and maintenance under a five-year contract beginning in FY21. The intention of this contract action is to continue the service and maintenance of the Gerstel MPS system to include onsite preventive maintenance, repairs, and parts replacements. The contract shall be for one base year with up to four optional years. This announcement constitutes the only public notice as proposals are not being requested from other parties and a written solicitaiton will not be issued. This notice accomplishes the following: Publicizes the Library's intent to sole source this requirement to the business listed in the Justification and Approval (JA). Synopsizes the requirements in accordance with the FAR. Publicly posts the approved JA to sole source in advance of award. As a result of this, a second posting is not reuqired after the award is made. Please see the attachments for the full details of the JA and requirement.
