Description

The U.S. Air Force is seeking information from industry on capabilities to develop a B-52 Advanced Wing Weapons Pylon (AWWP). This RFI is for market research purposes to identify potential providers capable of designing, developing, testing, and manufacturing a replacement or modified pylon that meets advanced performance requirements. The specific technical requirements and carriage loadouts are provided in the attached "RFI_AWWP_20May26.pdf". Key capability areas include: Weight Capacity:Carriage of munitions up to 20,000 lbs. Integration: MIL-STD-1760E and existing B-52 system compatibility. Certification: Dual conventional and nuclear certification capability. Engineering: Digital engineering, airworthiness certification, and aerospace production expertise. Responses to this RFI will be used to assess industry capabilities and refine the government's acquisition strategy for this critical modernization effort.
