Description?
The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) on behalf of USDA Agriculture Research Service intends to award a firm-fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to Kub Technologies, Inc (111 Research Drive, Stratford, CT 06615 for the procurement of (1) XSEED Plus Imaging System Item #K0029N01_NEW with installation and training. Statutory Authority This purchase is being conducted under the authority of FAR 12. The FSIS has determined that Kub Technologies, Inc. is the only source reasonably available to satisfy this requirement because the X-ray imaging system from Kub Technologies uses proprietary GUI-based software specifically designed for analyzing agricultural crops. This ensures accurate data analyses and reproducibility, which is crucial for operational efficiency and consistency in ongoing research projects. Additionally, the XSEED Plus system offers required features such as multiple levels of magnification allowing for imaging of materials 13mm, high precision measurement capabilities, a high signal to noise ratio, the capability of taking optical and X-ray images, and customizable user interfaces that are not available in other models on the market. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It’s a synopsis for informational purposes only. However, any responsible source that believes it can meet this requirement may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the agency. Responses must include: 1. Company Name and CAGE Code. 2. Technical description of how the proposed alternative meets all requirements listed above. Responses will be used to determine if a competitive procurement is necessary, at the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
