6710B UPS Battery Replacement

NICHD occupies space in building 6710B floors 1-3 with approximately 400 staff. NICHD sustains a maintenance agreement for the UPS system within its space and after a recent visit it was identified that the batteries are at end of life and in need of replacement. NICHD is requesting to replace its UPS batteries based on a recent maintenance visit from the vendor to sustain its battery backup for the Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) systems on each floor. NICHD has had an existing maintenance contract on this equipment since it moved into the space in 2016. The maintenance includes servicing the equipment which includes battery checks. These inspections are important as we have had cases where the batteries were nearing their end of life and began venting in 6710B resulting in a strong sulphuric odor putting our staff at risk. Moreover, this equipment sustains critical backup power supply to other equipment in our space for physical security and protection of staff.
